Amit Shah Highlights BSF Role, Orders Crackdown on Illegal Border Constructions
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Border Security Force (BSF) for its firm defense and morale-boosting role during Operation Sindoor along the India-Pakistan border, particularly at Rajasthan's Sanchu outpost. He highlighted the expansion of BSF's jurisdiction to 50 km to monitor illegal activities, including demographic changes and smuggling. Shah directed strict enforcement of a zero tolerance policy against illegal constructions within 15 km of the border, ordering demolitions and enhanced coordination among security agencies. Infrastructure projects, such as border roads, fencing, water supply, and women’s barracks, were also inaugurated to strengthen border security and living conditions.
