Nestle is voluntarily recalling specific batches of infant formula products, including SMA, BEBA, and NAN brands, across multiple European countries and globally due to the potential presence of cereulide toxin. The toxin, produced by Bacillus cereus, can cause nausea and vomiting and is heat-stable. Nestle stated that no illnesses have been confirmed in connection with the recalled products to date. The company is working with authorities and has identified a quality issue with an ingredient from a supplier. The recall, which began on a smaller scale in December, is considered one of the largest in the company's history.
