The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has proposed a Rs 10,000 crore fund and a 50% increase in capital subsidy for the biogas industry in the upcoming Union Budget. IBA recommends raising the subsidy to Rs 6 crore per 4.8 TPD of compressed biogas (CBG) production, with an upper cap of Rs 25 crore per project. They also advocate for mandated fermented organic manure (FOM) blending in fertilizers and position the biogas sector as a key driver of green growth needing fiscal support.
