
India's coal imports increased by 28.1% in November, reaching 25.07 million tonnes, driven by winter restocking and weak seaborne prices. However, imports are projected to decline in the coming months due to rising domestic coal availability. Despite government efforts to boost local production, Coal India Ltd's output saw a 3.7% decrease in the April-November period. Both non-coking and coking coal imports rose year-on-year in November.
