Air India is set to deploy its first new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, acquired after privatization, for international long-haul services starting February 2026. The aircraft, custom-built by Boeing, arrived in Delhi on January 11. This delivery is part of Air India's fleet modernization, which includes retrofitting existing planes and inducting more wide-body aircraft. The airline aims to have nearly 60% of its wide-body fleet with modern interiors by the end of 2026, as part of a larger order for 350 Airbus and 220 Boeing planes.
