The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has proposed a Rs 10,000 crore fund for capital subsidies to the biogas industry in the upcoming budget. They recommend increasing the subsidy to Rs 6 crore per 4.8 TPD of compressed biogas (CBG) production, with an upper cap of Rs 25 crore per project. IBA also advocates for mandated fermented organic manure (FOM) blending in fertilizers and positions the biogas sector as a key area for green growth requiring fiscal support and easier financing.
