
Guwahati is hosting a two-day National Conference of Textiles Ministers from January 8-9, focusing on positioning India as a global textile manufacturing hub. The event, organized by the Union Ministry of Textiles and the Assam government, aims to develop a coordinated national strategy. Discussions will cover infrastructure, exports, competitiveness, raw materials, technical textiles, and revitalizing traditional crafts. A special conclave will highlight the North-Eastern Region's textile potential, including silk, handloom, and bamboo-based products, and women-led enterprises.
