
In 2025, Ireland and Canada led a rise in foreign portfolio investor (FPI) assets in India, with Ireland's equity assets up 12% and Canada's up 10%. The US, the largest investor, saw a 7.6% increase in equity assets. Conversely, FPIs from Singapore, Mauritius, and the UK experienced declines, with Singapore showing the steepest drop. Despite these shifts, FPIs collectively sold over Rs 1.66 lakh crore from Indian equities, with many holding concentrated positions in blue-chip companies.
