SEBI has postponed the implementation of its new incentive framework for mutual fund distributors from February 1 to March 1, 2026. This extension, prompted by industry feedback citing operational challenges in system setup, allows more time for distributors to prepare. The framework aims to encourage onboarding of new individual investors from smaller cities (B-30) and new women investors across all cities. Distributors will receive an additional commission for these investor categories, provided the investment meets certain criteria.
