Vodafone Idea has received a Goods and Services Tax (GST) penalty order of Rs 637.91 crore from the CGST Ahmedabad South office. The order, issued under Section 74 of the CGST Act, alleges short payment of tax and excess availment of Input Tax Credit, along with tax demand and interest. The company stated it disagrees with the order and plans to take legal action. This follows recent speculative reports about a potential government moratorium on its Adjusted Gross Revenue dues, which Vodafone Idea clarified it had not officially received.
