India's Information and Broadcasting Ministry has launched a Live Events Development Cell (LEDC) to foster the growth of the 'concert economy'. This initiative aims to boost employment, tourism, and the media and entertainment sector, which is projected to grow significantly. The LEDC will act as a single-window facilitator, bringing together government bodies and industry stakeholders. The Prime Minister has emphasized the sector's potential for job creation and cultural influence, with a particular rise in events in Tier 2 and 3 cities.
