Speakers at the three-day Millet Mela-2026 advocated for decentralizing millet processing to the village level to benefit farmers and consumers. Experts emphasized the importance of active farmer involvement in organic farming to combat crop adulteration and improve public health. The event, which saw over 1,500 visitors and 30 stalls, also included discussions on cost-effective millet exports and the successful functioning of farmer-producer organizations (FPOs) with active leadership.
