The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has successfully capped its Mori-5 gas well in Andhra Pradesh's Konaseema district after a blowout and fire that began on January 5. Officials confirmed the fire was extinguished and the well controlled on Saturday, concluding a five-day operation. Around 600 people were evacuated from nearby villages as a precaution, and while a significant amount of gas was reportedly burnt, no fatalities occurred. ONGC highlighted the capping operation as a record achievement in blowout response.
