
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has secured a 150 MW 300 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kalikiri, Andhra Pradesh. Awarded through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding under a Build-Own-Operate model with Viability Gap Funding, this project is part of Andhra Pradesh's initiative to deploy 1,000 MW of BESS capacity. The project aims to enhance grid stability, manage peak loads, and improve renewable energy utilization by addressing intermittency.
