
Air India has received its first line-fit Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which arrived in Delhi on January 11th. This aircraft, featuring 296 seats across three cabin classes, is the first of six widebody aircraft Air India plans to induct this year as part of its fleet modernization. The new Dreamliner is scheduled to enter international long-haul commercial service in February 2026. Air India is also undertaking a significant retrofit program for its existing fleet, aiming to upgrade nearly 60% of its widebody aircraft by the end of 2026.
