Electric vehicle (EV) retail sales in India increased by 16.37% year-on-year in 2025, reaching over 2.27 million units. This growth was significantly driven by a 77% surge in electric passenger car sales. Electric two-wheelers saw an 11.36% rise, while three-wheelers continued to dominate with a 60.9% market share. The Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (FADA) reported these figures, noting that India's electrification journey is scaling across segments.
