
ExxonMobil is prepared to send a technical team to Venezuela to assess oil infrastructure, despite U.S. President Donald Trump's public statement that he is inclined to keep the company out. Exxon CEO Darren Woods had previously told Trump that Venezuela is currently "uninvestable" without legal reforms and investment protections. While Trump criticized Exxon's response as "playing too cute," company executives were reportedly surprised, as Woods had also indicated belief in the administration's ability to help resolve issues. Exxon's past assets were seized in Venezuela, and the company, along with ConocoPhillips, is owed billions.
