Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has revised its Phase II rollout plan, aiming to open the 15.8 km Poonamallee Bypass to Vadapalani stretch in February. This change allows commuters earlier access to the existing Phase I network at Vadapalani. Statutory inspections are complete, with a final inspection scheduled for late January. Trial runs are planned to extend to Vadapalani by January 9. Phase II passengers will temporarily use the Phase I station at Vadapalani, connected by a skywalk, as dedicated entry/exit points are still under construction.
