The Adani Group has officially commenced construction on the 570 MW Wangchhu Hydro Electricity Project in Bhutan. The project, a joint venture with Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) holding a 51% stake, represents a significant step in the energy partnership between the two entities. This initiative is part of a larger MoU signed in May 2025 to jointly develop 5,000 MW of hydropower in Bhutan, with the Wangchhu project expected to be completed within five years and requiring an investment of approximately Rs 60 billion.
