Renewable energy developers in Rajasthan are experiencing significant power curtailment, with over 4 GW of capacity facing near-total shutdowns during peak solar hours. This issue persists despite the recent commissioning of the 765 kV Khetri-Narela transmission line, which was expected to alleviate congestion. Stakeholder meetings revealed that projects under the Temporary General Network Access (T-GNA) mechanism are experiencing almost 100% curtailment between 11 am and 2 pm. The Sustainable Projects Developers Association notes that the new line has added limited effective transmission margin, and reasons for the ongoing curtailment remain unclear.
