
Haryana power companies HVPN and HPGCL were directed by the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) to conduct third-party audits of all thermal power plants. The commission also emphasized proper ash utilization, the formation of an ash management committee, and safety audits. HPGCL stated retired engineers conduct technical audits, but HERC insisted on independent third-party assessments. HVPN sought Rs 2,739.96 crore ARR for 2026-27, while HPGCL demanded Rs 210.47 crore. HERC also advised HVPN to secure lowest interest rates on loans and achieve savings.
