Zomato's founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, stated that the company terminates approximately 5,000 delivery workers monthly, with an additional 1.5 to 2 lakh workers leaving voluntarily. Goyal attributed voluntary exits to workers viewing the role as temporary or a short-term cash solution. Terminations are often linked to fraud, such as misrepresenting deliveries or issues with cash-on-delivery. The company also onboarded a similar number of new workers each month.
