
Tata Power has acquired a 100% stake in Jejuri Hinjewadi Power Transmission Limited (JHPTL) for Rs 2.42 crore, a special purpose vehicle for an intra-state transmission project in Maharashtra. The acquisition, completed on January 9, 2026, involves constructing a 115 km, 400 kV double-circuit line. This move is part of Tata Power's strategy to expand its power transmission sector presence and is expected to improve load handling and reduce congestion. Regulatory approval from the Ministry of Power was secured.
