While presented as a modern savings tool backed by physical gold, regulatory uncertainty poses risks for small investors. The Securities and Exchange Board of India has not classified digital gold as securities or commodity derivatives, leaving it outside the financial regulatory architecture and exposing investors to counterparty and operational risks.
