JSW Steel reported a 6% year-on-year increase in consolidated steel output to 7.48 million tonnes for the December quarter. This growth occurred despite a shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 at its Vijayanagar plant for upgrades, which impacted capacity utilization. Quarterly production saw a 5% decline due to this shutdown. The company's US operations also experienced some impact. The Vijayanagar furnace is expected to be commissioned by the end of the next fiscal year.
