Silver prices saw a significant drop of Rs 12,500 to Rs 2,43,500 per kg in Delhi on Thursday, following a record high of Rs 2,56,000 per kg the previous day. Gold also declined by Rs 900 to Rs 1,40,500 per 10 grams. Analysts attribute the fall to global profit-booking, reduced safe-haven demand, and a stable US dollar, with market participants awaiting key economic data. International markets also reflected a decline in both gold and silver prices.
