Eternal, the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit, has received two Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand orders totaling over 27.56 crore, including interest and penalties. The orders, issued by the Additional Commissioner of State Tax (Appeals) in West Bengal, relate to alleged short payment of output tax between April 2020 and March 2022. Eternal stated it believes it has a strong case and plans to file an appeal against the orders with the appropriate authority, citing advice from legal and tax advisors.
