Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a significant order, valued between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore, to construct a 3.2 km cable-stayed bridge over the Muri Ganga River in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. The project includes approach roads and advanced traffic and health monitoring systems. This bridge aims to provide all-weather connectivity to Sagar Island, improving mobility, healthcare, and economic prospects for its 2 lakh residents, and facilitating travel for millions of pilgrims attending the Ganga Sagar Mela.
