
German utility Uniper has signed a long-term agreement with India's AM Green to purchase up to 500,000 tons of green ammonia annually, starting as early as 2028. The deal, signed during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's visit to India, aims to enhance economic cooperation and positions India as a potential leading exporter of green hydrogen and ammonia amid global geopolitical tensions. Uniper views the agreement as crucial for providing customers with renewable molecules at scale.
