India's Atal Incubation Centres (AICs) are evolving their strategy to prioritize scalable outcomes for deeptech startups over sheer volume. Examples like Greenathon Technologies, with its textile wastewater treatment, and Ecoil, converting used cooking oil to biodiesel, showcase successful ventures supported by AICs. While 72 AICs nationwide have backed over 3,500 startups and created jobs, challenges persist, including limited infrastructure, prototyping facilities, and a shortage of experienced mentors.
