Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh successfully conducted its first commercial validation flight on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The Air India flight, carrying Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu, landed at the new facility, marking a significant step towards its planned June 2026 operational launch. The validation flight is a mandatory step for obtaining an aerodrome license and ensures the airport's airside infrastructure and operational readiness meet regulatory standards. The GMR Group is developing the greenfield airport, which is expected to boost regional economic growth and connectivity.
