Meghalaya has achieved a significant milestone with the first-ever full freight rake loading of coal at Mendipathar railway station. This operation, involving 42 wagons destined for Jalalgarh, demonstrates the station's capacity for large-scale freight movement. Since its entry into the freight network last year, Mendipathar has handled substantial cargo, and this development is expected to boost economic activity in the state.
