The company reportedly selected specific earthquake wave patterns to minimize projected seismic motion, aiming to expedite regulatory inspections for restarting offline reactors. This revelation, alerted by a whistleblower, has led to an apology from the company president, a directive from Japan's Industry Ministry for a detailed report, and an 8.2% drop in Chubu Electric's shares.
