The Mohali Municipal Corporation collected Rs 22 lakh from property tax defaulters on the first day of its enforcement drive. While no properties were sealed, many commercial and industrial units cleared their pending dues after receiving notices. The civic body has issued fresh notices to remaining defaulters and warned of coercive action, including property sealing, if taxes are not paid promptly.
