India's first Vande Bharat sleeper train, connecting Howrah and Guwahati, is set to launch on January 17. The train will feature 16 AC coaches, including 3AC, 2AC, and 1AC classes, with a capacity of 823 passengers. Fares are set on a per-kilometer basis, with a minimum chargeable distance of 400 km, and are generally higher than existing premium trains. Notably, the Vande Bharat sleeper will only offer confirmed tickets, with no RAC or waitlisted options available.
