Banks in Kanpur and Lucknow will be closed on Monday, January 12, for Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. Most other bank branches across India will remain operational. The Reserve Bank of India has scheduled 16 bank holidays for January 2026, in addition to weekends. Essential digital and self-service banking platforms are expected to remain available even where branches are closed.
