Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate Ashok Leyland's new electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing unit in Lucknow on Friday. The facility, a significant step for industrial development and electric mobility in the region, represents a ₹1,000 crore investment. The integrated plant will produce advanced commercial vehicles using internal combustion engines, EVs, and alternative fuels, with an initial capacity of 2,500 units annually. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other state and union ministers are also expected to attend the inauguration.
