
A new high-yielding sugarcane variety, named 'Bismil' (CoSha 17231), developed by the Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Research Council, has been approved for cultivation in Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan, in addition to Uttar Pradesh. This disease-resistant variety offers an average yield of 86.35 tonnes per hectare with 13.97% sugar recovery, aiming to significantly boost farmers' income and sugar production.
