The Federation of Associations of Cottage and Small Industries (FACSI) has urged the central government to implement significant support for micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the upcoming 2026-27 Union Budget. Key demands include tax relief, simplified GST returns, a higher GST exemption threshold, and improved credit facilities such as collateral-free loans up to Rs 1 crore at 6-7% interest. FACSI also called for faster GST refunds, decriminalization of procedural lapses, and the establishment of a dedicated council for MSEs to foster growth and strengthen their industrial role.
