Concurrently, purchases of U.S. oil also surged to a seven-month high, making up nearly 13% of imports. Together, Russia and the U.S. supplied almost half of India's oil that month. This increase occurs amid ongoing frustration over a U.S. tariff hike on Indian goods, imposed as a penalty for Russian oil imports, despite India's efforts to reduce such purchases.
