Lionsgate has sold its streaming service, Lionsgate Play, in South and Southeast Asia to Rohit Jain, the platform's current president. The deal, valued up to $30 million, transitions the service to founder-led ownership with a focus on the Asian digital entertainment market. Lionsgate will continue to license its brand and content to the platform under a multi-year agreement, while retaining its film and television distribution businesses in the region. The service reportedly has 5 million subscribers and received an estimated $100 million investment from Lionsgate.
