State-owned NTPC is in discussions to acquire a minority stake in U.S.-based nuclear fuel technology firm Clean Core Thorium Energy (CCTE). This potential investment, subject to due diligence and approvals, aligns with NTPC's strategy to explore international collaborations for its nuclear ambitions. CCTE has developed a patented thorium and enriched uranium fuel, ANEEL, compatible with existing reactors. NTPC aims to significantly expand its nuclear power capacity by 2047.
