A Uttar Pradesh sugarcane farmer has significantly increased his yield by adopting the trench pit method and intercropping, achieving 550-600 quintals per acre, up from 300. He experimented with various seed varieties and intercropped oilseeds, pulses, and flowers, which supplemented crop nutrients and boosted income. His innovative methods have motivated other local farmers, and he has established a Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) for processed products like jaggery.
