A man in Jharkhand's Palamu allegedly murdered his wife, Priyanka Devi, with his girlfriend's help and buried her body near the girlfriend's village. To conceal the crime and mask the smell, the man reportedly killed a dog and buried it at the same location. The victim had been missing since December 26, and her family's complaint led to a police investigation. Authorities exhumed both bodies from a five-feet-deep pit after villagers raised suspicions.
