Owners of a Mohali-based immigration firm, Rakesh and Prabha Rikhi, have been booked by Amritsar Rural Police for allegedly defrauding a man of Rs 21 lakh. The couple, who run Venture of Pacific, are accused of taking the money from Ajit Singh with promises of sending his two sons abroad, but neither services were provided nor the money returned. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
