
Approximately 500 stray dogs have been allegedly killed in Telangana over the past week, with incidents reported in Kamareddy and Hanamkonda districts. Police have registered cases against elected representatives, including village sarpanches, who are accused of orchestrating the killings to fulfill promises made during recent gram panchayat elections. Carcasses were exhumed for post-mortem examinations, and viscera samples sent for forensic analysis to determine the cause of death.
