Punjab Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested Kanwaljit Singh, a former SGPC employee, in connection with the disappearance of 328 sacred saroops of Guru Granth Sahib. Singh, who kept records of the saroops and had flagged discrepancies in 2020, is the second arrest after auditor Satinder Singh Kohli. The SIT conducted searches at multiple locations, seizing electronic devices and financial documents. The investigation is based on the Ishar Singh Committee report and involves 16 named individuals, with 14 currently under investigation.
