The CBI has requested a special court in Mumbai to issue a proclamation against two absconding associates of Nirav Modi, Sandeep Mistry and Mihir Bhansali, in connection with the Punjab National Bank fraud case. This legal step aims to enable the confiscation of their properties if they do not appear in court. The case involves fraudulent issuance of Letters of Undertaking totaling Rs23,780 crore between 2011 and 2017, with Nirav Modi having fled the country in 2018.
