A 58-year-old man, Girish Banavi, died when his car entered the restricted BRTS corridor and collided head-on with a Chigari bus traveling between Hubballi and Dharwad. The incident occurred on the Unkal flyover. The car was reportedly traveling the wrong way on the corridor, where car entry is prohibited. Dashcam footage captured the accident. A case has been registered by the North Traffic Police Station.
