Odisha Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested Amit Mandal from West Bengal in connection with an investment fraud. Mandal allegedly lured over 600 investors from Odisha and West Bengal into share trading schemes, collecting crores of rupees through a non-existent entity, Kalpana Financial Services. Investors were reportedly paid initial returns before payments stopped. Mandal was apprehended after a complaint from an investor who lost ₹8.5 lakh, with preliminary investigations revealing transactions potentially exceeding ₹122 crore in a single bank account.
